Yea he is using EQ and bass gain and reverb on the mic to make it sound better but so does any recording artist in any recording studio. Regardless these guys can do this on stage live in battles and they sound very much similar without EQ. I've seen their videos without EQ dry and raw with no effects and they sound amazing! And it's all real! it's not like they don't teach you tutorials on how these sounds are achieved and it's something I can't do ! The closest beatbox I can imitate is 80's the phat boys style, but this stuff is another level! These guys revolutionized it! And no matter the amount of mic effect or reverb would hide that fact that if one is garbage at beat box or vocals then all the effects in the world wouldn't help!
