Life at the Pond

Показать описание
Apart from the occasional summer storm, we receive most of our rain during the winter months. Often less than 600 ml per year. For irrigation we rely on manmade ponds to store water for the dry months. We are fortunate. On our 160 acre property we also have two spring fed "soaks". Which is what locals call small ponds that seep water from the ground. When the land is parched and dry the wildlife is quick to take advantage of the reliable supply of water and congregates around them.
