People treat Jayalalitha as a mother. That is why she is popularly called as "Amma". She is extremely tough person. She was very fair and treated people from all the caste equally. Amma Unavagam(offer food for underprivileged people at extremely cheaper price), she provided mixie, grinder to every household. I know many women who sell idlies and Vada using Amma grinder. She also gave laptops and cycles to government children so that they have access to technology and made sure they are not left behind. We got really good quality rice, dal from rations. After DMK has won the elections all of these benefits are gone.

I love Jey Amma for being an environmentalist . She implemented rain water harvest scheme which turned many dry places green. Our house salt water turned into soft water because of this initiative. She banned excavation of mountains in Western and Eastern ghats down south. She brought down commercial buildings and expansion in mountain areas, restoring the geology of the mountains. She rejected all forms of private sectors from squandering the land . She saved female child from child infanticide. She made food and facilities available to all . She is one and only Jeyalalitha and so we call her Amma. I am proud that we were raised by the sisters of church park convent who kept pounding us with environment awareness day in and day out.
