Fun fact: despite Italy pantsing England with that tactic - England voted against changing that law

Can we talk about how accurate that drop kick from Beauden was at the start? And straight from a pass? Crazy

the high iq moment in the game at 8:14 was getting away with that forward pass

@0:15 That wasn't high IQ, that was a brain fart from the ref. He had previously just told the England captain to go talk to his team, and called time off. So the entire England team was huddled around the captain, doing as the ref asked, he then called time on without allowing the England side to get into position, but allowed the kicker to take the kick straight away.

Rugby league fan here, would be more into union if it was more available but one thing I like about this video is how everyone respects the referees decision. In rugby league everyone complains about the smallest of things that goes against them from officials and it ruins the game in my opinion. big respect to the sport that shows big respect to its officials.

Back in the day I scored one like the one at 2:35. Ball went over the try line at a ruck and i popped round the back and put my hand on it. One of the tries of mine I'm most proud of.

2:36 if you've ever seen an "own try" i think this is it 😂

7:45 I have f*cked up but instead of admitting my mistake I’ll threaten you.

Referee ranking 1/10.

00:25 that isn’t high IQ, that’s just piss poor refereeing, he’d asked England to go and have a chat and then played on when they were busy having said chat.

I remember Brett Davey putting a dead ball on his toes, making sure the assistant ref was watching, then running through and getting a try.

Between reacting like this and punching his team mate in the face during a friendly, Brits really had an anger issue on the pitch.

Massive forward pass on the Carlos Spencer over the head kick

I absolutely loved it when Italy did that loophole thing with the ruck not being formed. Shame they banned that

One of the greatest moments of individual brilliance I've ever seen.

I will have to take the word of the author that these are high IQ in almost every instance, although I vaguely recall the England-Italy one being a news story. So weird how movement within the the technical rules that keep outsider spectators so confused can be so revered by spectators within the sport. As in, from an outside perspective I can't even glean what clever thing must be happening most of the time. And I used to play Rugby World Cup 95!!! 😆

3:04 can someone explain why he’s allowed to do this? To my understanding is it because the his team hasn’t contested the maul so the offside lines haven’t formed?

@6:00 are Argentina able to do that I understand the line out is over cause crossed the 15m line but they already threw a jumper in the air. Can someone help with that?

8:05 try should stand because tricking the ref isn’t technically illegal, he tapped it on his own foot so technically it’s still in play this should be a try

As an England fan, I hated Italy being so clever at the time. Looking back on it, I can only admire their intelligence!
