Marco's top winds continue to fall, according to the 7 am update on Monday; Laura is still moving across southern Cuba as it heads toward the Gulf.

Marco may be weakening, but as 2020 has been such a bizarre year for weather, there might be one possible way it will return as a major threat. Meteorologists say that if Laura and Marco get close enough to interact, Laura's winds may push Marco south as per the Fujiwhara effect. If that happens, could Marco return to the Gulf of Mexico and strengthen into a powerful storm, possibly a hurricane, again?
