ESAT - a tiny satellite #shorts

CubeSat is a real and complete satellite. Super small dimensions 10x10x10cm make it cheap to build but most importantly cheap to launch.

ESAT is a model used in the lab to learn how those are built and how to operate them. I had an incredible opportunity to use one of these models during CubeSat Summer School 2022 at the European Space Agency.

I’d LOVE to see a photo or video of the space debris! Only seen “simulations”

Ppl dream of space travel but the first problem is leaving the earth.

Until one day, some newbie shoots his own satellite up that collides with another, that collides with another, that collides with another, and so on. I bet within ten years we'll have the first major catastrophic chain reaction of satellites hitting eachother, breaking up into space debris, taking down almost all satellites in their respective height range.

I have opposing thoughts on this.

1) It is as F"ing cool.
2) I think it is inevitable that some time in the future, space travel will start to become normal. We are sending a LOT of stuff flying around in space, that is going to cause problems when people want to routinely fly around space
