Pointless? Yes.
But these days, it's a fun little toy to add to one's MIDI setup.
Today's Module is Korg NS5R.

For anyone confused. The MKS-900 is just an LED keyboard visualizer. It contains no music hardware what so ever, and is the point of this video. The actual music is made by my Korg NS5R. This was meant to be a demo of the visualizer only, not the music. LOL. Will do proper recordings off the Korg later, as it's an interesting module to play with.

Very nice man, I have a Yamaha MU80 coming to me soon. Just recently got a Roland MT32 and a SC55. I was using emulation for a bit but the actual hardware is so much more exciting to use and it brings back memories from the early 90s with the X68000, PC9801 and DOS. That Korg sounds fantastic. Thanks for sharing! :)

How is it pointless? It's awesome! Having a decent mechanism for visualization that's hardware, not software based is pretty cool. It looks amazing.

That squeeky door soundeffect at 8:38 sounded VERY realistic! O)

Glad everyone likes the Korg, even though that wasn't really the point of the video. :)

after having seen this vid, I went to see if there were any up for sale, there was. what I didn't see was that it was like 5 minutes remaining on the auction :D I noticed this one compared to the A-110 can actually take european power outlet without any problem. MKS900 takes 220/240V and 110V. The A-110 however only takes 105V.

Really cool visualizer. I'd pick one up if they weren't big bucks. Were they only released in Japan? Seems like something only hardcore MIDI studio owners would have had.

Also, with the Korg module, I assume you need to have Castlevania in SC-55 mode so the sounds map correctly, right?
