Today's planty video is a fun one where we go through 10 plants that I'm considering parting ways!

The point system I used to guide my thoughts on each plant:
✅ Does it spark joy?
✅ Is it fairly resistant to pests?
✅ Do I have a spot for it to go in?
✅ Is it unique?
✅ Is it easy care?
✅ Have I been taking good care of it?

I just donated alot of my plant to my library. They have a table always set up for plants for people to take. I feel good about giving plants away for others to enjoy!❤ Sharing is caring!❤

I agree with you 100 percent on if a plant doesn’t bring you joy get rid of it! I’ve had plants that I have just composted😭

I have never gotten rid of plant and then regretted it! I have killed a couple that I ended up repurchasing, but usually when I give it away/sell it it's such a relief. They are pretty plants, but maybe they deserve a home where they do spark joy ;) Usually if you are thinking about getting rid of something, it's for a good reason.

My reason for having house plants is for the aesthetics. They are part of my decor and make my tiny home warm and cozy. I’m not into having lots of propagations or small plants with only
two or three leaves or rehabbing or cabinets. I like the old stand-byes that are low care but beautiful. I understand being into props or plants crowed together. But not my thing. The nice thing about the hobby is that there are so many ways of enjoying plants that there is something for everyone. Love your channel. Donna

Fern! This the first “purge” type video I’ve seen that actually helps me apply a logical method for evaluating my plants in a way that I can wrap my brain around! Thank you! Tonight, I will be beginning my downsizing journey! Cheers!

I do find it curious how the plant i searched for relentlessly, bought for a healthy price at the height of the plant craze and was so over the moon when i got it, now is one i just have no interest in. I hang on to it because i keep waiting for my feelings to change. I keep putting off making a decision. Kudos to you for taking the decision on your plants.

Fern that variegated vanilla orchid needs a transparent trellis. You had a really cute heart one a few videos back that would really show off that plant. ( Imo😂) And I went on a plant purge the last week ; any doubles, same with my 4ft plus plant trellis, ( 3 of them) chop chop, I am sure 30 plants have went to the compost. Whew it feels great !

Love this video idea cause we get to see plants you don’t show as much

For the mini pixi, you could totally take a good bit of cuttings from that plant, there is so much beautiful growth, just sanitize and treat and give new soil and I bet the pests go away. I feel like the soil could be the mealy culprit. AND you’ll still have a nice size plant to start over with! ❤

I like the Hoya sigillatis, like you said I think she just needs to be filled out more.

Wildfern this video was perfect. This pass weekend i threw out anthurium, philodendron I didn't care. If it was runts that hadn't grown, leaves just kept crisping i let them go. I have about 70 that I really want to continue to see them thrive. I didn't want to go into winter stressed. I feel better

12:47 Noooo, it’s stunning. In my collection, the Marble Queen, and especially the Albo would go waaay before this. To bad I don’t live close to you. And think of it this way: if it doesn’t grow so fast, it doesn’t take up as much space 😉😊

I have a Hoya linearis that I battled mealy bugs on. One day I cut it all off at the soil line and stuck all the cuttings in a glass 9 x 13 baking dish with a solution of fish emulsion and left it there for a few days. The solution was more concentrated than regular fertilizer. That was 2 years ago and my plant is still pest free. I think that would work great for your Hoya mini pixie. It's worth a try.

I love the fairy castle cactus but I just threw mine away and it felt so good. The mealies girl. I BLEACHED THE PLANT and they lived. I had nothing left to try.

I like the point system but like you said "bringing you joy " trumps the rest 😜

I remember thinking blah for my paradoxa. But once I repotted into a hanging basket I started loving it. It’s now a part of my window ‘curtain’ collection next to my other trailing rhipsalis
