Growing up in the 60s and 70s I use to rely on Aretha’s words and badass music like this when I couldn’t express my own feelings into words … I’d get pissed and play songs like Seesaw good and loud .. 😂 Love this woman 💚😊😎☀️

Sometimes you love me
Like a good man oughta
Sometimes you hurt me so bad
My tears run like water
Ya get me out
Not before your friends
And then ya disown me, baby
Until we're alone again

[Chorus]
Your love is like a see saw
Your love is like a see saw, baby
Your love is like a see saw
Going up (Up)
Down (Down)
And all around
Like a see saw

The entire album is a masterpiece. Personnel include Roger Hawkins. Tommy Cogbill, Whitney Houston's mother, Emily "Cissy" Houston, Spooner Oldham, Bobby Womack, Jerry Jemmot and King Curtis. In case you didn't know, Whitney Houston's mom, Cissy Houston, is a very succesful vocalist who was part of the Sweet Inspirations-who provided background vocals for many hits from Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl" to this song and album, Elvis Presley, Dusty Springfield, Wilson Pickett and even Jimi Hendrix's Electric Ladyland! Also in the Sweet Inspirations were Whitney's cousins, Cissy's nieces, Dionne and Dee Dee Warwick. And if that isn't enough talent in one family for you, they are all also directly related to Leontyne Price!

The song "See Saw" by Aretha Franklin describes the ups and downs and the inconsistency of love.

The lyrics depict a relationship that is characterized by extremes, where sometimes the narrator is treated with love and affection, and at other times, she is hurt and left to sob.

The song highlights the idea that the love between the two is like a see-saw that continually goes up and down, and the narrator feels dizzy and unbalanced. Furthermore, she claims that her partner is inconsistent, sometimes committing to her and at other times disregarding her feelings.

The bridge of the song emphasizes how unpredictable and unreliable the narrator's partner is in the relationship. The outro of the song repeats the chorus and reflects the many emotions that come with a relationship that is uncertain and wavering.

Overall, "See Saw" speaks to the confusion and frustration that can come with feeling like you're always on an emotional rollercoaster in a relationship.🎉❤🎉❤
