I've seen my chickens go crazy over mice. It's so funny! You really do have an excellent system. I've learned a lot from you. Thanks chick 😘

One of my roosters will steal a mouse from my cat. That's why I laugh at vegetarian chicken feeds. Chickens will eat each other, for cripes sake, given their situation is dire enough or they see a wound on one.

Fantastic video - managing predation is a cornerstone of self sufficiency. Managing it using another good source is doubly good!

Mice are a treat to my chickens.
I have my chicken coop under my back porch/deck and I don have a problem with mice.
Thanks for sharing!

Hey there, just wanted to let you know that this channel is providing a ton of inspiration to our family and we're brimming with ideas on how to make our 14 acres work for us. Do you have any suggestions on a high wind greenhouse? We're in a pretty wide open spot and get 40+ mph winds regularly.

My chickens completely ignore mice in their henhouse. I occasionally find a little nest made from chicken feathers, which looks quite warm for a little mouse, but I have to lay traps.

Yards birds are an awesome idea they won’t crush your plants like cats will, I had about 100 or so cats and 20 dogs on my plant farm (folks dropping them off pregnant at night) yard birds will eat mice or even sometimes each other, I love yaws farm I’m in growing zone 9, yaw have some really great ideas it makes me feel proud to see people still farming around our great nation keep up the good work

Not sure about those plants but with wild edibles, the yellowy leaves can be from too much moisture, making the plant "flooded" for lack of a better word.

Lucky you!
My hens are useless against mice (and snakes)! Picky eaters?

Hi Julianne, I hope you and your family are well. We are doing well in Canada but a little tired of having the border closed. It's been almost 2 months since Emily died. We are doing well, considering. I ordered 10 day old chicks that I pick up on April 6. I'm looking forward to my adventures in homesteading. I would like to eventually put my chickens in a greenhouse like yours but we have lots of critters around that could prey on the chickens. Do you have any advice on how to deter fox, skunks, mink, racoons, and bears? Thanks 💕 Sandra

I would love to know more about your pallet beds! Are the sides left open? Or did you close them off with something?

Doesn't Australia have issues with a mouse army or some such major rodent problem? Wonder if their chickens could help?

Where do you get the netting from? Is it plastic mesh?
