For this video, we went down to Hialeah, Florida to visit one of the local blue thumb specialist, Itsander. He has been a stop for many of our local reef club's annual tank tours and a popular destination for speakers to visit whenever they are in for talks.

He has recently upgraded his aquarium after months of planning and I went to check out how his tank, to talk about his reefing philosophies, his routines as well as how the transfer went, what steps he took as well as what he did with the new build that were note worthy that we can use to our application. The slide out shelf is a great idea! I also like the auto feeder feeding to the return pumps and having the food come up the return.

Very nice tank. I would play with the speed f the overflows to eradicate that oil slick on top of the water

Who does your ICP Test? Also those soft close heavy duty hinges on the doors above your tank, can you share the brand name? I look at your tank everyday and remain amazed! Thank you for sharing your story and your beautiful tank!

Wow - what an amazing tank and it has truly inspired me as I am having a 365G customer reef aquarium built for me right now. I’m going to do my best to use many of the suggestions you made in your outstanding video. I do have a few questions:
1. A the beginning of the video there was a picture of your rock aquascaping. Was that live rock from your previous tank or new rock? What kinda of rock are you using?
2. What brand of water storage tanks are you using? Hard to read the labels on the video
3. What brand of black sand are you using? And what size sand?

Fantastic video. The dark sand really makes the corals pop but that pull out drawer is the bees knees. Can you share a few more pics/video on the build please? (I wish the tank/stand companies would adopt this)

Outstanding accomplishment ! 🤝🏻 Apex is my newest Trident still inna box waiting. 😂 You flashed too briefly the Apex dashboard. Your ORP was close to 400 and the PH less than 8. If you intend to genuinely share your water-facts then re-show the Dashboard stats. Are you running Ozone? Are you dosing AK and MG and aminos? Again, outstanding tank for just 3 months.... Well done !

I did some research on the Caribsea Hawaiian black sand and here is what a couple of buyers say about it I put this in my tank. It looked great!
I couldn't get any corals to grow, they kept dying almost immediately. ICP tests showed highly elevated nickle and vanadium. I checked everything and replaced all sorts of parts. Then I read a post about black sand sometimes doing this. I removed the sand and the tank immediately was better. Proven by several ICP tests that showed it was bad, and the removal completely eliminated the nickel contamination. I understand its not all bags, but avoid this product to save yourself a lot of coral deaths.
So what are you thoughts on this? - your coral all appear to be thriving so I am totally confused now.
