In the UK it's even easier. It's either Class 1, or it's illegal

I put a 250 watt sticker on my 1000 watt motor....so its a class 1.

Here in europe it's so much easier to understand. EPAC 25 km/h and S-pedelec 45km/h. Both need to be pedaled, if it's throttle only, it's an electric motorcycle.

Class 4 here! Pedal assist and throttle up to 45mph. Yes death trap but fun.

Class 1 and 3 are actually often interchangeable and are unlockable in the bike from either software or a mechanical setting, the only different between class 1 and class 3 is the MPH it will give assistance to, which can usually be altered by the user based on their location. Most class 1 e-bikes can be unlocked to class 3 but come with a 20mph max from the factory. Class 2 have a throttle, where class 1 and 3 are peddle assist only (at least in Illinois)

In the EU it's 250w max, pedal assist only, no throttle. Speed is limited to 25kms/hr.

I once saw an unrestricted full sus ebike smoke roadies on a small climbthat bike went up to 60kph on the straights and zoomed past roadies on the straight, followed him on my motorcycle for 10 mins then i went on my way😂

Mine is a Class 3. I bought it in 2015 before anyone else had one (that I know of).
