Magnetic Polarity Detector Circuit using Hall Effect Sensor

How do I make only one led stay On in accordance to the last polarity of the magnet it detects.
For Example: If Green light represent south pole and red light represent North pole. I want the two lights to be off until I bring a magnet closer, if the north pole of the permanent magnet is the one facing the sensor I want the sensor to put on its Red light even when I take the permanent magnet away the red light should remain on to indicate that the last pole detected was a north pole, I want similar thing to happen when I bring the south pole closer to the detector it Should turn on the green light while the red off even when I take the magnet away the green light should remain On to indicate that the last polarity detected is the south pole.
