This is a free sample of the 40+ videos in my course where we walk through the typical take home project that is given to iOS developers as part of the job interview process. In this chapter of the course we discuss the initial navigation setup of our app using a UITabBarController and UINavigationControllers.

This is the course I wish I had when I was just starting out. It's jam-packed with fundamentals topics. This course is an intermediate level. It's meant for those that have learned the basics and are looking to get ready for their first iOS developer job.

Here's a list of some of what we'll cover:

• 100% ProgrammaticUI
• CollectionViews with the new DiffableDataSource
• Search Controllers
• Network Calls
• Parsing JSON with Codable
• Pagination of Network calls
• Result Type
• Memory Management - Capture Lists [weak self]
• Image Caching
• No 3rd party libraries
• Dark Mode
• Custom Alerts
• Project organization
• Composition - Longest VC is 200 lines of code
• Child View Controllers
• UITableView
• Delegation
• Persistence
• Proper Error Handling
• Empty States
• SafariViewController
• SFSymbols
• Dynamic Type
• StackViews
• Date Formatters
• Activity Indicators
• Reusable Components
• SceneDelegate
• Poor Network Testing
• Passing Data between views
• Overall iOS 13 best practices
• Most importantly… how it all ties together

I'm glad you (finally) did it, hope you will continue to do more projects. I think years ago you had a website with tutorials (sort of seminar/webinar with someone). You're great at explaining things and this is the best way we can support your work. If this is going the same way as 'let's build that app' then I'm all in. Purchased.

Awesome Video! but I have a question, have you been able to do ReplayKit 2 live broadcast pairing yet? I've been looking for ages for a good tutorial on that and haven't been able to find anything.

How can you make the two navigation controllers share the same navbar or top tool bar on the tabbarcontroller?

Hello Sean, thank you for this video.
I have a question about the Developer Documentation. Is there a way to make marks in the documentations? Like if you make colored marks in a book.

Hi Sean.
I am an Android developer and I am interested to buy your course to broaden my knowledge.

Does it make sense to learn uikit or is it better to start with swift ui?
Thank in advance for the response.

Dear Sean Allen, what color theme do you have? This is a custom theme? (preferences -> fonts & colors). I can't find your theme :)

i do not like at all this approach to create different function for every breath. as soon as project gets significantly big it is hard to read code not saying to maintain
to figure out what is going on in a single line of code you need to look up for a big chain of functions and they might be in different files or even private library
