About Simple Little Life:
This channel has sort of turned (inadvertently) into a knife making channel. But the original idea behind what we wanted it to be is this description below:

Videos on our journey to homesteading. With a recent purchase of a little piece of the Alberta prairie, we're looking to sell our nice suburban home in search of a more meaningful life beyond chasing the "American dream" working for some big company and making someone else rich. It's not about the money, it's about getting the most value from the work I do to improving the life of my family.

Some preparedness, DIY, building quality things with your hands, guns, gear, and outdoor exploration.

Super useful tip, hadn't thought of this but its the kind of thing that can take a knife from 'oh thats neat' to 'YOU MADE THAT??'. Will be using in the future!

Jeremy I made the exact same thing from 01 at 1/4 inch thick. Heat treated and tempered to 400 F. Zero chance I can break it. Best part is files and the sides of my belts barely even scuff it. The idea came from simple little life. Thanks dude.

Great idea! Simple, yet functional. You could always grind a reverse bevel on the ends of the guide so its easier to pull the two pieces apart.

Hey Jeremy, I've been thinking about making knives as a hobby for myself to keep busy. Since watching your videos I found that It's something I can definitely do and just wanted to say thanks especially with the way you explain the method and steps to making a knife, with and without power tools .

Still waiting to see where the cigar lounge is going to be in that shop now that you have a fancy "work-bench" / bar top. ;) Also, I sent you a gmail on Jan 26 about a particular knife. Have to say, you, Sandy (Jacklore Knives) and Mike (Ekim Knives) have inspired me to up my game a bit so I ordered a fancy cellphone trip-pod stand and am learning to use my Mac iMovie for editing. Maybe all the knife makers/ followers should put out a video... "Shop Tour". Give each of us and folks watching a view of what we use and what our Home-away-from-Home looks like.
