Most people do not realize this but there is a very nice connection to a famous artist here. There was a kid, who was also thoughtful and introverted as Ishaan in this movie. He was also interested in art at a young age, He was mostly educated and taught in his home, but then was sent to boarding school. He felt abandoned by his parents and protested hard to get back home. All similar to Ishaan. But later this child would go on to become one of the most influential artists in European history. His name was Vincent van Gogh.

One of the most famous paintings of van Gogh is 'The Starry Night. There are a lot of references to this painting not to mention the song itself. For example, the final painting the Ishaan draws is full of dark colors, mostly blue and black. The original starry night also uses dark colors. Considering all this it seems very likely that the director was paying homage to van Gogh. Either way, great job!
