Hey there. I have a Zen (D Akebono) & do the electronic VST thing, too. I have always had a slight problem recording the Zen: spikes in levels, since it's a percussion instrument, and slight resonant feedback from reverbs. What are you using to help smooth out this recording process? Custom EQ? I think I have one of those mics you're using as well, or similar: MXR.
