D. H. Lawrence (1885-1930) was an English author, short-story writer, poet, dramatist, essayist, and also a writer of travel books and letters. His notable works include Sons and Lovers (1913), The Rainbow (1915), Women in Love (1920) and Lady Chatterley's Lover (1928). Lawrence's writing revolves around relationships, families, social structure and a bold depiction of sexuality. He infact challenged the traditions of English fiction. A pioneer of Modernism, Lawrence passed away early, at the age of 44 due to Tuberculosis. Nonetheless, his works and ideas are immensely popular till date.
