Big Shout-Out to KiddVidd as well as Kongs R Us and links to their channels and videos are below. It was exciting to see the new Arcade1Up Mortal Kombat II Deluxe Arcade Cabinet out in the wild and in real life but there was one important piece of information I wanted to be aware of that was brought up during Bee's livestream. From a design point of view the Cabinet looks great but....did Arcade1Up fix the software emulation (or will they fix it) on this cabinet? Let's discuss!

Will there be a Day 1 Firmware Patch? Will the Input Lag be fixed? Will it be the same as last year's MK 30th? What are your thoughts? Let me know below!

A much better improvement of the Mortal Kombat II cab. And I like the speaker grills instead of drill holes for the speakers. Hopefully they get it right with the game play. The joysticks and the buttons always can be changed for not a lot of money. Thanks for the great video.

Sorry to hear about the input lag. Fingers crossed it gets fixed on release day. Thanks for sharing this. Looking forward to Class of 81. :)

If the community would hold off on the pre-orders until 1UP fixes any issues when a new cab comes out would send the right message.

Ms.Pac-Man has not launched in the winter in years, they basically pushed it to summer to have it with whatever they are doing for atari deluxe and capcom deluxe. Arcade1up doesn't seem to do software fixes unless they know it will increase sales too but there will be some kind of day one at least.

More in context, I really think we should expect what we known from A1Up and allow ourselves to be surprised if things are better. Time and time again we've hoped and discussed things to improve upon, but only a small few have changed. So at this point, I'll say 'it couldn't get any worse' than we already know.

I still have the first mortal kombat that arcade 1up released. I got it on release day and it's my only arcade 1up left of 13. I upgraded the buttons and sticks I'm happy with it.

PDubs,

I'm happy you have another cabinet to be excited about, especially in a form factor that works better for you. Since I'm not big into Mortal Kombat, I'm glad Arcade1up was able to take care of me with a Defender variant. And though it would've been cool to have the original Defender button layout found on an original commercial cabinet, I'm still amazed how Arcade1up was able to pull off the same experience (for me) with a button layout which also allows the other games to function great as well, (well, except for Paperboy, which I would've swapped that one out for Robotron as Robotron actually has a control scheme built into the cabinet with its twin sticks).

I started to lose hope I would ever have a Williams collection in my arcade and have to settle for a Mortal Kombat skin to get it, but glad Arcade1up was able to make it happen (oooh, and that Joust variant looked amazing as well, except for the horrible monitor). And just so you know, I don't hate Mortal Kombat as a series. I did have some fun playing Mortal Kombat II in the arcades, though it was never a go-to game for me, and I loved the 3D fighters on my PS2. I also think Mortal Kombat has really hit its stride ever since they released MK 9 and every iteration has been fun since.

But speaking of software and lag when it comes to Arcade1up products... Given Arcade1up's exceedingly long times to fix their software, if at all (Quantum still doesn't play properly on my Atari Deluxe 12 in 1 cabinet and I bought that cabinet back in 2018), whether it be lag, gameplay, sound, or even getting online functionality to work in the first place, Arcade1up has shown this isn't a top priority for them. I wouldn't buy a cabinet if correcting lag issues is a priority for you. Now if you're looking at upgrading a cabinet that came with a horrible monitor to a new variant with a good monitor, that may be a compelling reason, but just don't hold your breath that you'll be lucky enough to get something fixed when it comes to their software. They've shown to me, they just don't care most of the time.

I hope this new machine works out for you if you do decide to get it :)

Repeat customer is the name of the game. Many will probably be upgrading

Why? Why are we STILL dealing with input lag? This is nuts. You can build just about anything, dirt cheap, with no lag. We're not even talking wireless controls!

I just hope capcom isn't forgotten again because it there was lot not available on big blue that only final fight had

I just shot back from best buy where they had this deluxe cabinet and the input lag was severely bad. Almost a full second! I should've taken a video, but it was very noticeable and I was shocked at how bad it was.

They need to fix the sound as well, in older MK cabinets you notice it on MK1, the title screen where it makes that high pitched sound in the 1up versions the sound channels are messed up and the drums sound louder. On Mame you can fix that by adjusting the sound channels. Hopefully the speakers are upgraded since they have speaker grills. If you are paying $400-500 for this it should be arcade perfect. And they should have added a few more Midway/Williams/Atari games, like NARC and Pit Fighter. I have those on Midway Treasures discs for PS2.

Great video! It's interesting that you were talking about the input lag. When I turned on my MK30th today there was an update. Only thing that I saw that was updated is that now there are MK icons next to your name on the leaderboards??? I knew something was missing!

A1UP was never able to nail down the input lag. Every cab has it. All of my cabs even after all their updates have the slight input lag. I wish 19” screens would replace the little 17”.

So the market will be flush with riser versions of Arcade1up so everyone can upgrade to the Deluxe and XL models going forward? Still moving around quite abit in the game play video though.

Hey there man haven't been around much but glad ur still doing these vids. Honestly Arcade 1up I learn my lesson years ago...half a$$ed cabinets in the first wave to then release a new one that's better which is great yeah but unless you got money to keep burning you won't be upgrading lol

Still pissed about the button layout on my Atari Tempest cab!!! They need to make available a new button swapout like on the Centipede version!!!

I vowed to no longer buy a ¾ scale going forward but my sons obsession I will bite the bullet this looks like next level

It looks nice. It honestly does. But they've had 4 MK cabs to get this right. They seem to be purposefully hedging. There should be no offline lag. Fix the emulation and add online spectate. Just those 2 things and this would be the coup de grâce. I could bark about a bigger monitor, or HAPP sticks, or the side art, but those things are easier to upgrade. When the game itself has issues, I might as well buy an empty real MK cab and throw a PC in it.
