Lagos Lawn Tennis Club is not in Ikoyi. It is at Onikan area of Lagos Island. The British High Commission and USA Embassy are also not in Ikoyi but on Victoria Island. Ikoyi starts from the a stream by Military hospital on Awolowo Rd, a branch of the five cowries creek, which separates Victoria Island from Lagos Island. Recall as kids, in the 60s and 70s, we use to swim in the stream which empties into Lagos lagoon at the Ilubirin/Dolphin estates end. Sadly, the stream has been narrowed to an ill-maintained stretch of drainage, clogged by waste and mechanic slug). Ikoyi therefore starts from Obalende Police Barracks ( by St Gregory's Rd) Obalende area, , Osborne / Dolphin estates to South West Ikoyi (Awolowo Rd/Keffi Rd axis, Falomo (Rewanu Rd axis), South East Ikoyi, Oyinkan Abayomi/Bourdillion Bourdillion/ Alexander/Osborne Rd environs and former Ikoyi Park ( now Park view and Banana Island axis).
