The fact that you keep your calm, and start thinking, instead of just yelling is so adorable. What a wonderful woman and mom

You ignored her tantrum. Redirected her anger, asked for her help and she asked you for your nurturing. Beautiful. ❤

She taught her daughter 2 things here 1. If you throw something you loose it and 2. Acting out won’t get you attention but speaking up and asking for it nicely will.

THIS right here is gentle parenting, not yelling at the child not beating the child THIS is perfection. Thankyou

Hey!! I work in behavior therapy with kiddos and folks with intellectual/development tal disabilities. This was absolutely a solid strategy to give time between the behavior, and remove the iPad without ignoring your daughter or her needs! I love that you asked her to comply with a task/demand (get the dustpan) In a kind voice before comforting her!! You didn't hold it against her and comforted her when she was able to vocalize. Love that you gave yourself a second instead of rushing in hot! So much can be saved for you and your daughter but just giving yourself the time you need to breathe! This was some A+ parenting for real!!!

It's so comforting to see her realizing she was feeling upset, not sure what or why, but knew she needed you and you were right there to comfort her. That's so healing 😢

That's some great parenting. My mother would've flipped her shit and yelled at me till I cried. I'm glad you put your child first and your frustration and anger second, that's true maturity ❤

This gave me goosebumps for some reason. Heart warming to see such a loving nurturing relationship between mother and daughter

I am not a mom but I am a big sibling so the amount of patience you have if insane.
If my brother throws his iPad at me imma throw it right back😂

Proof that “he/she’s just a baby” isn’t a good excuse to let kids be brats. If you chose to have kids, teach them something useful. She handled this exceptionally

I cannot understand why a toddler needs an Ipad, but your reaction was very nice. I always love to see parents not angrily shouting at their children if they do something wrong, because that would teach them: If something happens that I don't like, I am allowed to scream to get my will

Ignoring the behavior and putting it on the table is what I was told to do. Children will keep the behavior and make it worse of you react to it. Good job mama

This is how parenting should be. She is a child, and instead of yelling at her, you put her feelings first. Great job, you guys are both gorgeous.

I think she wanted your attention. It was good you didn't teach her negative attention, and instead removed the object she was using to seek that attention and turned her to something positive by asking her to bring you the dust pan. Great parenting!

This is why African parents tie their babies to their backs. Simultaneously frees the hands and comforts the child to make doing other tasks easier. Just something to consider

This kid is already set up to be more emotionally regulated than literally any member of my bio family. When I look at videos like this, I see generations of flawed and harmful parenting turning over a new leaf. It gives me hope 💕

Finally a parent who properly teaches her kid. In my perspective it's a good way of teaching kids, not every way of teaching is perfect.

This is sweet but personally I make sure to acknowledge if my child does something inappropriate or unacceptable. I don’t spank them, but I don’t just turn the other way or sweep it under the rug, so to speak. And I don’t pick it up for them, I ask them to pick it up. It’s important to raise emotionally sensitive children but accountability is necessary.

See how she didn't start bawling her eyes out. It shows a lot. You're doing great parenting her. I hope you're really proud of yourself. A lot of parents either usually go too soft or hard to the point of being toxic. But from what i can see your doing amazing

There are always some people who will judge parents for their parenting despite not having the slightest idea what it is like to actually deal with a kid, you CANNOT make a kid understand anything when they’re throwing tantrums, every parent has their own way and she did it very well, very patient 👏
