Look out for the BEES!!!

I have just purchased a 41ft Ketch sailboat that was either going to the scrap yard or it needed someone to spend some quality time rebuilding her.

Each week I will try to upload a new video with what has been completed, it will be a long journey and I hope you will enjoy being a part of it!

The Enchantress is a 1973 Formosa 41 designed by William Garden and built by the Ta Chiao Brothers Boat Building company.

She has definitely enchanted me and I want to bring her back onto the water with some simple restorations and adding some modern items to make this a very liveable and enjoyable sailboat!

Follow my adventures as I attempt to restore a boat for the first time.

Geez you were so calm about the bees moving in! I’ve had wasps build a home in my boat Lightfoot quite a few times and it freaks me out everytime. I’m actually scared to go in there when I haven’t been for a while

Blades for metal work best for fibreglass.

Any risk of the hull losing its form with the bulkheads removed/rotten? Maybe the fiberglass is thick enough to maintain its form. Anyway, great job so far! You are a hard worker!
