Crime is the unspoken factor here. Insurance companies pay for all the theft and crash-and-grab claims by raising rates on everyone.

Illegal drivers getting in accidents left and right and that’s only going to increase and increase along with insurance rates. Make sure you are covered under uninsured drivers!

Some would say "Stop paying taxes"
But that would be illegal and no one should do that.

Carjacking and uninsured drivers and high inflation.... insurance rates went up in Illinois... well this is a mystery!

An agent told me that a big reason car insurance is going up, besides the obvious repair cost increases, is the uninsured motorist claims. A lot of insured people are having to pay for damages caused by uninsured drivers. Apparently it has become rampant. Also, a big percentage of those uninsured drivers don't even have driver's licenses. Car theft is also up to 32% higher (depending on where you live) than 4 years ago.

My car insurance went up 40% this past renewal! Options include raising the deductible, lower the liability coverage amounts and consider dropping collision coverage if your vehicle is 10 years old or older. Climate change is driving home insurance and auto insurance costs up!
