Nice set up. I’m looking into upgrading my 26gal Husky that I bought from Home Depot like 10 years ago. It takes like 30 mins to fill up and I want to upgrade it. Your set up is exactly what I had in mind. Thanks for sharing.

I've had that same sand blaster for about 20 years now. It's STILL working. I also upgraded my compressor for it. I went from 3HP 110V to 5HP 220V, but I kept the same pump and got 33% over drive pulley. It was an improvement, but not enough. I added a 20 gallon tank inline and it still wasn't enough.

My 5hp motor is the older HF versions they used to sell about 20 years ago, I'm not sure they are REAL 5HP or not. What I really should have done was upgrade the pump, but I'm not sure if the older 5HP would run it. I'm looking to run 2 compressors into 1 tank because I have an extra compressor and the old 3HP motor.

I'd suggest you add a cooler BEFORE you get to the tank. Run the copper lines to an A/C condenser then back to the tank. You can mount the cooler and a fan so that it gives cool dry air before you get to the tank. Add in a water filter and flush it out every so often. People say that doing that makes it so you don't get hardly any water in the line.

For the sand blasting, I got a 5 gallon bucket w/lid and cut a large hole in the lid. Put window screen over the top, put the lid on and use that to filter the sand. Works awesome. Sweep up the sand, toss it on the window screen and move the bucket around. You can even drop the sand in front of a fan to get the dust out. I restored a few cars this way using bags of sand from Home Depot.

Cool, I’ve seen this video and think it’s the best way for me to go.

I put a roll of 1/2 inch copper tubing between the compressor pump and tank eliminating almost all the water that comes from condensation when the 200 degree air enters tank and I ran my intake through wall to outside really quiets it down and I get only fresh air.

I'm upgrading mine to a 2 stage compressor pump. What i'm not sure about is an air line coming off of the switch went into the cylinder head of the single stage, but my 2 stage does not have that fitting in the cylinder head. Can i connect it somewhere else? Im thinking its there to turn the pump on and off as needed, Yes?

What is the Max RPM on a 5 horsepower motor? What is the brand name of the 5hp electric motor? What is the shaft size? What size pulley does it need for maximum performance? This would help me out a lot thanks

So I've been wondering what's pushing a compressor too far? If you have a 20 gallon compressor tank and you want to put a 6 or 5 horsepower motor on it how do you know when it's too much. At what point does it get dangerous?
I've been wanting to do this for a while and a few people suggested it to me on Facebook marketplace because I really really need one as I have three paint guns and recently got let go from the place where I've been working for the last year and a half and I want to start doing custom painting on my own. I just can't afford something with 15 or 20 CFM which is obviously what I'm going to need and I don't know the first thing about converting these things. Can you please help thank you so much love your video

nice job. I have a 60 gallon Campbell Hausfeld with 5HP rated motor and pump. Its getting pretty noisy. CH recommends their VT4923 rated at 3.7 HP to replace it. I think its to small. Your thoughts? And how is your Harbor freight pump working out?

Hi, can you possibly provide us with the size or list of the fittings and ware to purchase for the ones that have to purchase this HF style pump to a Husky tank! Thank

Could you do a video where you show it run and maybe a decibel test so we can see it?

Nice set up, like to know where you got your adapter for the pump and what size and your pulley for your motor, thanks

That motor you added is a 5hp SLP, Which in fact is not a true 5 HP motor. Yours is only 15 amps. making it about 3 1/2 HP. A true 5 HP motor will be 22-23 amps. I'm setting one up now and will start with my old 5HP SLP, But will upgrade shortly. You did a nice clean update.

I’m not trying to be a jerk but I have the same set up, I took a 60 gal craftsman tank with a oiless compressor but took all that off so I’m left with a 6hp elect.220 motor with a new 5 hp H.F.pump like yours but the specs call for a compressor pulley 8.8” which about half the 14.5” pump pulley.how is yours that small?and how does it work I’m not done with mine yet
