Yes this video helps me make a decision about what yo purchase. I like the 6k because it's newer, but this video really helps by breaking down the differences and help me decide what I need and what I can work around.

Nice comparison, I may have missed it but not sure if you mentioned what firmware your 4K was on, if the 4K and 6k are both on v7.3 firmware they’ll both be using gen 5 color science which is flatter than gen 4. I have the pocket 4K and briefly considered upgrading to the 6k pro but also decided it wasn’t enough to be worthwhile, I’m holding out for possibly a new body design and one of blackmagic’s own sensor (micro cinema 8k or 12k) I still own and continue to use the original bmpcc because it’s such a special little thing, Beautiful image

Great level of detail and thank you for highlighting the pros and cons so clearly and being genuine about why you consider not to upgrade. 5 star rating from me for your great clips. Well done again!!!

Nice video! I love the field real world test. It’s definitely not about resolution for me. But I have wondered, does the 6K have less noise or smaller noise?

If I switched to 6K Pro it would be for the screen you can actually see outdoors, internal ND, and EF native lens support.

I’ve often times used the Bluetooth app to set focus points, but I have the viltrox speed booster and it doesn’t work with it. The metabones is close to the same price as me buying a 6K Pro and selling 4K.

But in the end, the image looks so close to identical! So for me it’s more of the on the field accessibilities that can speed up processes. IE, Walking outdoors to indoors

Do you have any tips for me in this situation?

Great Video. I am considering to go for a BMPCC and this review really helped. One question: since it will be my first ever BMPCC and if the budget is not an issue as far as the price of the camera is concerned, , do you still recommend 4k or 6K pro? Would appreciate your feedback.

Really good vid man! I haven't seen too many real world comparisons like this. I have both cameras, i actually much prefer the 4k with the .64 metabones as it gives me a wider field of view that is very close to ff and way better at low light performance, as well as using less storage media, the 6k is also very cool but kinda bulky, it sits on a tripod 90% of the time whereas the 4k is a run n gun beast, if you outfit the 4k with a tilta cage, battery/focus handle w/nano focus wheel and get a great variable nd/ or mini matte box with ND's, you are at about the same cost as the 6k without a cage or matte box (which I think you're nuts if you don't protect your camera with a cage), I would rather have another 4k rigged the same exact way as my first 4k rig as it would make multi camera color matching a non event and keep everything else ultra consistent in production equipment and post production editing, with the 4k/.64 speed booster i can also use the BMRaw gyro stabilization at max effect and only get cropped down to the super 35mm 6k frame size when it's NOT stabilized, stabilizing the 6k crops in on it significantly, it really comes down to not wanting to be hassled with time consuming issues for what is arguably a marginally better image in the 6k, the only really small advantage imo is punching in on 6k footage stays extremely tack sharp, i also really like the dual xlr mini's on the 6k, but the 4k's 3.5mm mic input isn't a deal breaker unless you are in a really emi/rfi polluted environment where you need balanced connections to reject noise

In our case, we have no camera to upgrade; we will make a new equipment purchase. Do you recommend to go to the 4K or going directly to the 6k?

Gréât vidéo thanks. For me what’s kill it is file size, I’ll stick to 4K. I wished we could have had more info on the different file size between the 2. Maybe for another video ;)

great video xDDD
But I have still some questions as it's pretty hard to choose between the 6k and 6k pro haha. I've never had a video camera, so I'm somehow afraid that it will be too heavy with the Pocket 6k Pro (1.2 kg DJI Rs 2 stabilizer, 800g Sigma 18-35 mm, 1.2 kg Pocket 6k Pro, and another battery or SSD.) Do you think that could be the case? Especially when you e.g. film the whole day or when you travel and still have a drone. I also wonder if the 6k Pro's "tilting screen" is really necessary? (I filmed with the Gopro and the cell phone on a stabilizer and never really had any problems, even when I walked very close to the floor. Maybe it's different with the camera, as many 6k users said it is necessary). Buying one later would make less sense, as it costs more and is perhaps even more uncomfortable if you use the stabilizer and fix a "DJI 3D focus system" / microphone on the "head" of the camera. I've already looked a bit on the internet and apparently the 6k Pro fits on the RS 2, but it's not yet entirely clear to me whether that's really true. I have one last question then I say more than thank you; Do you actually need nd filters a lot in filmmaking?

Great comparison and really interesting stuff. I found myself enjoying the 4k footage more... however, I am watching off of my phone.
