But, the drummer! But, the keyboardist! But, the bassist! Gretchen is unbelievable... Just wow!

That Bassist is doing THE (pronounced Thee) JOB. Some people don't like jazz and I can understand that. But this rendition of WEAK is exactly why I love Jazz and the musical vocabulary and vernacular necessary to just be a Jazz artist. Not everyone can do it and not everyone can Love it.

I'm glad everyone is taking into consideration how great the singer, drummer, and pianist are, but the bassist is fuckin groovin.

Gretchen Parlato is probably the most peculiar jazz singer of our modern times.
Her technique and musicality are impeccable. In times where the audience reverence singers like Adele and other boring artist she appears as a lone and unique star in the sky of mediocrity.

The band is amazing. The drummer is absolutely great.

This is my favourite Kendrick Scott performance on drums. Level of control and dynamics and all round musicality is so inspiring. Gretchen’s phrasing and intensity is stunning. Who band is insanely good. Its like the black ops level of musicianship!

Beautiful. I love how the groove is slippery, fluid and yet so hard in the pocket. This band is on fire!

This is REAL musical skill in a mean groove.  No words.

I've had this on my Favorites for years (and Butterfly, they seem to come as a pair). I have a lifetime of music on there; a cross-genre spread with a solid evolution to jazz, progressive jazz,  early on. But this is the one I keep coming back to.  I keep playing it... a continual absorption of talent, groove and brilliant execution not only by the phenomenal Gretchen Parlato, but by the entire band. Each musician kills it... She kills it... WEAK kills it... and even with a lateral shift in bass and drums [Guiliana !!], so does Butterfly.
