My dad had a building material company that delivered in the 80s… he had 8-10 of them 4x4 5spd toyota sr5s tough trucks but he got 6 brand new 88 gmc 4x4 6ft beds 5spd blk all of them….. best fukin trucks ever… ive been thru 80s 90s till todays trucks and late 80s to mid 90s was the best trucks….. ever…..

Those generation Chevy & GMC C/K series pickups replaced the previous square body ones "only the regular cabs" in that year. Not to forget 1988 was also the first year for the optional extended cabs too. Fast forward to 1992 the crew cab pickups & SUVs were also redesigned to that body style.

For me, I wish you could just buy a basic pick up. I don't need blue tooth, leather, or any touch screen stuff. Just a basic single cab truck without a bunch of power stuff to go haywire.

Transmissions went out at around 35K. Side window wouldn't roll up after awhile. BAD quality. But after all, it is a Chevy.
