I teach entry type construction courses in Far North Queensland that working visa holders may need to do to be able to work here as a result I meet loads of UK passport holders. Most of these but not all are unable to find rentals or even rooms up here so are moving back to larger cities or other regional centres. The common issue raised is discrimination against working visa holders to get a rental. Lots of work here in Cairns but nowhere to live and a heads up ....don't think of living in van ie car type van as the heat up here is very tough and a high tech portable air con system is could go on about this issue but I would be writing a short essay.
