Eminem said in an interview, a while ago (like years ago), that he always kicks people out when he’s creating and recording. Like not the beat creating process, but the vocals. He said it helps him focus and stay in the zone.

I’m only assuming that maybe that’s why he gave Kendrick the space, cuz he wanted him to do his thing.
