Electrostatic interaction between a protein and an electrode

Показать описание
This video illustrates the electrostatic interaction between a protein and an electrode subjected to an applied electric potential. Electrostatic interactions, also referred to as electrostatic forces or Coulombic interactions, are fundamental forces of attraction or repulsion between electrically charged particles. In this video, these charged particles consist of the atoms within the protein and the electrons flowing through the electrode. The orientation of the protein, can be influenced by the applied electric potential, because the protein's behavior is responsive to the electric potential's polarity. On a charged surface, a protein tends to be adsorbed with its dipole moment oriented orthogonally to the surface. However, it's important to note that the dipole moment provides only a basic approximation of the protein's orientation.
