Commercial motor carrying is a regulated industry. Like any other industry, safety regulations must be followed. Illinois has adopted the federal motor carrier regulations, and violation of these standards is evidence of negligence. Choosing a lawyer who knows these regulations is critical.

Our practice involves travelling all of Illinois and we meet where our clients live. Helping victims is our passion and we often help local law firms who want to associate with trial attorneys who know commercial trucking.

Our Illinois Truck Accident Lawyers dedicated to helping truck crash victims in all of Illinois. Based in Joliet, Illinois, our lawyers wrote the book on Illinois truck collisions -- the Illinois Truck Litigation Manual. The Illinois Truck Litigation Manual is the reference guide for any attorney handling a commercial trucking collision. Our experience as truck crash attorneys is hard earned, as Joliet is the epicenter of truck traffic in the State of Illinois, sitting at the intersection of I-80 and I-55.
Joliet is also home to the largest inland port in the United States and unfortunately it has more truck collisions per capita than any other place in the Nation. We understand the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and how these federal regulations impact the legal duties imposed under Illinois law. We handle cases in State and Federal Court and understand that commercial motor carrying is a pervasively regulated industry.

Our attorneys give presentations all over the State, including Peoria, Rockford, Springfield, Bloomington, Normal and the Quad Cities. The first and most important part helping truck accident victims is understanding the FMCSR. When making presentations to my fellow attorneys we’ll normally stress the importance of the FMCSR in shaping legal duties and obligations. It’s not that lawyers or judges are stupid, but most have little exposure to the commercial transport industry. Thus, they mistakenly think of crashes in the same way as collisions involving passenger automobiles.

A crash involving a commercial motor vehicle is an industrial failure - no different than a fire at a refinery or a chemical release at a processing plant. Industrial failures occur when established safety standards are ignored, and in the State of Illinois deviation from established safety standards is considered evidence of negligence. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations [FMCSR] govern commercial motor carrying and unlike most safety standards, the FMCSR have the force of law. As part of federal roadway funding states are required to adopt the FMCSR and every state [including Illinois ] has adopted the FMCSR.

Truck crash victims need lawyers who understand that commercial motor carrying is a pervasively regulated industry. Our lawyers stand ready to help victims and local law firms handling truck crashes. The insurance lawyers understand the industry, and so do we.
