Porter Cable 4x8 Belt/Disc Sander Unboxing and Review

This is my Fathers Day Gift that I finally got around to opening. I think this will suit my needs much better than the old Delta Belt/Disc Sander that I got from a friend last year. That Delta got a lot of use and served me well, but with as much as I'm using the sander it could be justified if it will do what I need quicker.

I bought one from lowes and the delivery truck dropped it, I went to assemble it and was missing the instruction manual, all the bolts, the allen wrench so I had to return it. The other one at the store the box was damaged so I didn't repurchase it. I had no idea how large this thing was, because Lowes did not have one on display.

You were grinding that bolt on the wrong side of disc sander

Thank you sooo much… was getting frustrated since I was trying to figure out how to put the belt in the vertical position for more then 15 mins… on my Clarke CS48 !   :-)))

So safe to say this can be used for metal . a lot of the ones ive looked at say wood only

I have this same sander and the only 2 issues I have with it is that the table on the belt, the distance is almost to far and sometimes that can be a great inconvenience. The other is that both tables seam to have some play in them even when tightened down. They can be off as much as 4 degrees so I constantly have to recheck for square. Other than those inconveniences I really like it.

I know this has nothing to to wit ur me Porter cable. Could you please do a review on the Colombia coating system that u bought a while back. because my dual voltage system from Eastwood's ain't working as good even with my earth grounding the second tone won't stick have a lot of issus could you please help me.

Hey, good video. I'm most likely going to buy this model at some point in time for making chairs. But next time you sand with the disc sander, sand on the right hand side of it so The work piece doesn't jump around ;)

*Worked great for my first project.>>>**9m.no/톛쁮**    Easy to change belts and never felt under powered. This is a small machine so don't think you're going to hog off a lot of material quickly. Only for small projects and you'll be happy. I did back off the back plate for the belt to press against while grinding so it had some give and contour ability and if you don't you'll get the bounce where the belt is connected, but that's normal in my experience.*

I'm a little confused by the vertical arrangement with the fence/table in the middle of the belt. Is it possible to lay the belt flat? I need to flat-sand longer parts...

Would you say that the tool rests on this grinder are firm and stable?
