For anyone curious. Here's all you need to know to understand the joke in this video:

      Pat Tillman was a multimillionaire professional football player who quit his sports career to enlist in the army and help on the "war on terror". Needless to say that this was great for the Army image.
       However, the tables turned, because it didn't take long until he died in Afghanistan.  
       The army then reported that he died heroically by charging towards the enemy to protect his friends.  But further investigations revealed that the entire story reported by the Army was a big lie...  Pat Tillman actually died due to Friendly Fire.  

And that's the reason behind Family Guy's joke.

In case you people don't know Pat Tillman was a NFL player who played the position, "Safety" for the Arizona Cardinals who later then gaved up on his professional career to proceed of defending his country by being a soldier. After a couple months into service he was killed by friendly fire.

You guys explaining the joke seem to forget how the Army lied initially and said it was the Taliban that killed him and not friendly fire. Its only when other soldiers who were there told what really happened that the Army finally admitted it.

I think what makes this even more sad than the fact that Pat Tilman was killed by friendly-fire is the amount of disrespect he got after his death simply for being an atheist. Christians and pastors publicly criticized him, saying he was burning in hell for not believing in Jesus. There are atheists in foxholes, Pat Tilman was one.
