Loving this album, liking the production even more than After Hours even if there’s a couple more fillers here. Can’t wait for Anthony to shit all over my favorite moments of it.

This album doesn't have as many amazing songs as After Hours but man as a full album it's a great experience and grows on me with each listen.

Can't believe that The Weeknd's grandfather suddenly time traveled into 2022 & decided to create an album, that's a genius move.

The Weeknd went from singing about drugging up girls and telling em to stay away, to talking about how wonderful it is to fall in love. Talk about 180

I remember you was conflicted
Misusing your influence
Sometimes I did the same
Abusing my power, full of resentment
Resentment that turned into a deep depression
Found myself screaming in the hotel room
I didn't wanna self destruct
The evils of Lucy was all around me
So I went running for answers
Until I came home
But that didn't stop survivor's guilt
Going back and forth trying to convince myself the stripes I earned
Or maybe how A-1 my foundation was
But while my loved ones was fighting the
Continuous war back in the city, I was entering a new one
A war that was based on apartheid and discrimination
Made me wanna go back to the city and tell the homies what I learned
The word was respect
Just because you wore a different gang color than mine's
Doesn't mean I can't respect you as a black man
Forgetting all the pain and hurt we caused each other in these streets
If I respect you, we unify and stop the enemy from killing us
But I don't know, I'm no mortal man, maybe I'm just another brother

First listen to it, I wasn't sold but the second time hit different and better, definitely thinks it's close to after hours and I loved that album! So I think the Weeknd has another classic in his hands especially with how crazy, scary good the production is again

Beyond the superficial, it’s very different than After Hours. It’s hard to compare them really. After Hours was special and epic. This is more of a mood piece, although a lavish and consuming one that will be easy to loop on repeat. Feeling a light 8.

This was definitely a bit underwhelming as far as a tyler feature goes but the rest of the album was really good

I honestly though that the weakest part of Dawn FM was the features. I love Wayne and Tyler but their contributions didn't add anything to the songs or even subtracted from them and were way too short anyways. Except Jim Carrey he heightens the album every time I hear him

Tyler had to leave the track early to continue on with wrecking peoples golf le fleur orders

Glad we are getting another concept album from him… I didn’t go in thinking about After Hours.. it’s a new album with a new journey. Each album is in its own league

If synth production were a drug trip, after hours is cocaine, while dawn fm is straight up acid.

"there was something about tyler's bars and his delivery that reminded me of my beautiful dark twisted fantasy era kanye" dawn fm 6 confirmed

The first time I heard phantom regrets by Jim it was a pretty moving experience. The album is pretty great overall.

The Weeknd doesn’t know how to write an happy ending to his story. His music is most effective when it’s toxic/tragic. I was assuming this album would be Abel finding happiness/love after after hours but it has the same toxic relationship song which tonally doesn’t make much sense after after hours which was very tonally consistent

I found the Tyler feature to be lackluster and semi-phoned in in terms of length and general writing (I.e. the repetition at the end where he could’ve put in some more lyrics to make that feature more of a feature and less of a "peak the head in alright Im leaving now" type of deal) thought the song was enjoyable- Tyler feature was slightly disappointing. Good review melon

I like the album quite a bit but the first half is stronger than the second. Whole thing is produced immaculately tho
