I found out about PRR during their massive hiatus. Never would I have dreamed that the band would make such a comeback! When Eupnea was announced it felt like a genuine miracle, and every release is a real treat. I'm lucky to be alive at the same time as PRR.

I've loved this band since The Dark Third was released which, shockingly, was 18 years ago and I've never understood why they aren't absolutely huge. This song makes me love them now just as much as I did back then. Beautiful ❤

What a great band, such serious melodies

A masterpiece. And yet, I find it incredibly difficult to listen to this song - because I can't avoid tears.
As gently as the melodious tapestry of sound unfolds with every note, every line relentlessly conveys a leaden and paralyzing feeling of helplessness and ever-present sadness. It is unbelievable how deeply “Betrayel” touches me, with all the love over the years for such a wonderful being - a true friend for life. And all too soon, one day the loss will confront you with the fact that all this will be a memory for the rest of a lifetime.
As a fan since The Dark Third, “Coming Up To Consciousness” is clearly the best PRR album of the recent past for me.

Listener from the states… I can’t remember how I found these guys way back in ‘07 but they were nothing like I’d ever heard! Was sad when they split but so happy when eupnea and above cirrus were released! Can’t wait to hear the new one!

At first I was going to say it was not quite as impactful as "Useless Animal" but on 2nd, 3rd listen.. from 03:15 on especially, it got to me.. so beautiful, so sad.. wake up, wake up.. mmm right to the ♥. Believe this was the sequel to Useless.. or epilogue. Regardless, it is stunning and so delicate and raw. Well done PRR!

This is an amazing and well constructed (and produced) song! Love the Pet Sounds influence. Also reminds me of Apprentice of the Universe. Great lyrics too. This should garner this wonderful band a lot more fans.

In my opinion, this is a beautifully constructed piece (musically), made all the more emotional by the subject matter and the lyrics, dare I say poetry, around the heartbreak of making the ultimate decision and act of true love in having your best (furry) friend put to sleep - something I imagine many who listen to this song will, all too painfully, be able to relate to. Another very personal, yet relatable piece by PRR. Thank you - This is a fabulous album. ❤
