Live Unboxing - HobbyKing Mini Skyhunter & Parts for 2017

HobbyKing™ Mini SkyHunter FPV Platform (Kit)

I've put the things I like and the things I don't like so far into simple bullet points to help you below.

Right now I'm not sure on the best approach to make this model transportable in the car & to the flightline because of the tail-boom section.

Overall, I like it! But as with all models, it needs to fly great for it to stay. I'll hold back final thoughts until we've had a few flights with her.

Things I like
================

- Size. It's wayyy bigger than what I was expecting

- Well boxed, unlikely to suffer damage in transit

- The parts provided seem like decent quality (ish)

- The fuse is huge, we'll easily fit a 5200mAh 10c 4S battery in there

- It should be a 2 hour build tops (not accounting for the time to laminate it)

And the Things I Don't Like
================

- The front black canopy is painted white EPO, so overtime that will end up looking pants

- The glue on the bottom half of the fuse is non-existent!

- The same around the motor mount, the construction has definitely been skimped on here (easy fixed though)

Another thing Matt was the booms were very tight going into the wings had to use emery paper on a small pipe in a slot in a drill to make the wing clamps slightly bigger, they wouldn't go all the way to the ends, they do now . Also it came with a clear platic tray that went on the bottom of the fuse . Graham

hi Matt, I didn't glue the center plywood piece in, I cut down 4 barbeque sticks and made 4 holes that the wings bolt onto and then made 4 holes in the tray so I can push the sticks through the holes and into the tray so if I need to take it out then I just pull the sticks out and then I can pull out the tray and the tray doesn't move even when it's landed

Matt, thoes plastic brackets for the tails & horiz stab don't like thread lock they all cracked around the holes when I bolted them up, had to use plastic plates glued on to hold it all together . Graham

This model is safe with GOOP. It is a lot bigger than you think it's going to be! I built mine but haven't flown it yet.

I know you have had both.
Mini or full size Skyhunter?
Is the a bad take off dip on the Mini?
I know the is not on the full size.
