I don't understand. They should be in demand more now than before because of the exorbitant prices in regular grocery stores. They must have been bought out by the big conglomerates who don't want the competition from them since the beginning.

If it doesn't work, then Dollar Tree/Family Dollar should occupy those 99-cent stores (and they have about 14, 000 stores nationwide _combined_ compared to 99 Cents Only's 371).

Turn them into Grocery Outlets. Grocery Outlet Bargain Market. That will solve the problem. Grocery Outlet has good quality products at good prices. Most of the stuff I get there is also name brand.
