I’m not a big monofilament guy for lure fishing. It always seems to cause me problems with loops or memory. Even when using swivels and a leader. I switched to braid early on in my fishing career and have never went back except for with my float fishing. But then again maybe I was using poor quality mono or something. I might give it a try again at some point.

I always use 20lb braid for the rivers for trout and a 12lb fluorocarbon leader. I just find that breaking strain of braid is the perfect diameter, casts superb but is still sturdy enough to withstand a bit of wear and tear on vegetation etc.
My go to rod is a 6’6 Abu Garcia devil. That thing has caught me hundreds of fish I love it.

Very enjoyable video. I use most of the Rapala's & the Salmo's you have, What i do well on also is the floating Salmo Hornet 3cm and Heskey Minnows from AGM Lures.

Thanks for telling all those secrets! Here in Sligo/Mayo the brown trout season is already open on some waters. I just can't see myself catching anything just jet. But I will try light spinning first on the small river.

Thanks for a great video, delighted to see you posting again! Do you ever use jointed lures for lake trout? I have found them useful at times when they won't take the old faithful countdown elites, salmo minnows etc.?
