My tolerance of even remotely attempting to understand someone who can't identify a great thing when it's smack dab in their face, is deficient at this point in my life. I will NEVER again try to understand why someone would choose to play pretend in anyone's life when it's not what they actually want. Leave people alone if you are not ready. Figure yourself out independently. It's unfair to "figure yourself out" while in the midst of someone's genuine love for you. It's terribly selfish. You can literally ruin a person like that.

This isn't healthy. One will struggle with unrequited love while one will withhold their true love due to past hurt. Cut the cord. Catch up once a year. Maybe send holiday greetings but move on. He's going to continue to say hurtful things because he's hurt she won't give it another shot. She'll stick around because she truly does love him and wants some form of a relationship, if not romantic. It's only going to get worse if they get in other relationships.
