This is not old music. It’s revolutionary, contemporary, timeless and wonderful

I was born and raised in Memphis, and what a blessing to have been able to hear Mr. Estes perform. He made it look easy !!!
May he, and all his blues musician contemporaries, find the peace and respect they so richly deserved in Heaven - And here on Earth, now we have had to give them up, continue to honor them by listening to their fine

The mandolin player he played with - Yank Rachell - lived his last years here in Indianapolis and was friends with many of my blues friends.

When I listen to old music, it's one of the few times... I actually have a kind of love for humanity.

Amazing song. Fantastic that the Kinks heard it and put it on their first album. Totally wonderful

Now asks sweet mama
Lemme be her kid
She says, 'I might get boogied
Like to keep it hid'
Well, she looked at me
She be-gin to smile
Says, 'I thought I would use you
For my man a while
'That you just don't my husband
Catch you there
Now, just-just don't let my
Husband catch you there'
Now, went upstairs
To pack my leavin' trunk
I never saw no whiskey
The blues done made me, sloppy drunk
Say, I never saw no whiskey
Blues done made me sloppy drunk
Now, I never saw no whiskey
But the blues done made me sloppy drunk
Now some said, disease
Some said it was, degree'in
But it's the slow consumption
Killin' you by degrees
Lord, it's the slow consumption
Killin' you by degrees
Now, it's-a slow consumption
An it's killin' you by degrees.

Excellent, Yank Rachell was a big influence on Ry Cooder and the Kweskin jug band.

When I played with the late great Blues piano player, Jimmy Walker, we'd visit and play with Yank. We even stayed at his house on occasion.

Love this song. Not Milk cow blues but great bluegrass/blues song.

The phrasing is unique. The only other song it reminds me of is the Beatles "Come Together". And the lyrics is very hard to transcribe. Are there anybody born in central Tennessee out there, who can listen in? But the title - there must be some mix up or sloppiness on the record company - for this has absolutely nothing to with Kokomo Arnolds "Milk Cow Blues".
