Hi guys, I said felsic rocks have a LOW melting point. Not so. Quartz has a higher melting point ( temperature) than most other minerals. This means felsic rocks have fairly high melting piints. This is cause the silicon- oxygen molecular bonds are super strong and resist melting. Felsic magma usually clogs the top of a strato volcano. It resists melting and flowing. Finally, pressure causes an explosive eruption.
