Beethoven Piano Concerto No 5 Op 73 Emperor Berliner PHILHARMONIKER - Conductor - Herbert von Karajan
Enthralled by the first notes, but wait until the 30th minute for Beethoven's genius.
The concerto actually has no association with any emperor. The origin of the epithet Emperor is uncertain; and may have been coined by Johann Baptist Cramer, the English publisher of the concerto. Since 1912, it has been recorded numerous times by classical pianists. Beethoven composed the concerto in 1809 and dedicated it to Archduke Rudolf, who was his patron, friend, and pupil.
