Thank you for your explanation and the time it took to make this. I always thought market cap was the money already invested into the project, like you explain in this video.

However this appears to be incorrect, if a new project was created and it has 1 trillion supply and one share sold for 1 dollar the market cap would be 1, 000, 000, 000, 000 despite only 1 dollar actually being invested into the project…

"Price is dependent on market cap" - not really. Market cap is dependent on price and circulating supply. But price is not directly dependent on market cap, it's directly dependent on traders who trade the asset. It also doesn't necessarily need more capital to move the price if market cap is bigger, this again depends on how traders act. Price theoretically can double or triple with just a one dollar trade, which would double our triple market cap at a cost of just one dollar. But that's only possible if all active traders of the asset let it happen (aka provoke it), and it's a common practice to inflate the market cap of scam cryptos.
It however does need more money to manipulate a price the higher the trading volume is.

solid explanation on mc vs undiluted mc but will have to disagree on your proof of work vs proof of stake take. you equally need more money to control a proof of work system as you need money to buy the hardware + the energy requirement is usually damaging to the environment resulting in a less favourable mechanism than proof of stake
