In my whole 5 years of brawl stars career the removal of boxes impacted me the most

I think the thing that FINALLY stabbed the game in the chest was gears and then everything going down hill from there. But then during season 14/15 was when it came back to the light

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I miss the simpler times

Man I remember 3rd season, It was much fun. It had a unique brawler that was fun to play (even when it was bad) and every creator were trying to uncover starr park lore. I remember waking up and getting excited about how much progress the lore had made

I feel like boxes being removed is the main thing that also made brawl stars kind of go down, since they were a big part of the game

I also feel like people have gotten more toxic, 90 percent of people in my game either use a thumbs down emote, or just throw the game on purpose

I started playing the game in late 2019 and when the pandemic striked, I played for hours with my friends and really enjoyed the game. Unfortunately though, with the October update I temporarily quit brawl stars because of the gears update. I had just brought almost all my brawlers to level 10 and, back then, I felt like I was blocked in front of an insurmountable wall. The game was more pay2win than ever and I just stopped caring about it for a while. But then, when the announced the gears' rework, I was immediately convinced that brawl stars was back on track, and I was right! Since then, they've been absolutely killing it with the updates, kind of revolutioning the game each time with interesting additions. I hope things will stay like this forever

The implementation of chromatic brawlers also made the game feel less special, i feel like the brawlers dont make sense and lack in terms of quality, we get new chromatics every season and they reduce in rarity making them less special to me, the removal of brawl boxes also felt like a stab in the back, even as a F2P

The removal of chests is in my opinion was the worst thing they did, I remember the old chest system where you could stack chests and you would see these big 200 chest openings on youtube it was great, but then they changed it to the battle pass system and I was disappointed but I told my self "hey at least they havent removed chests from the game" and then they did exactly that. It was such an enjoyable part of the game, seeing a 7 openings on a mega box was so exiting or getting a brawler from a regular box just gave the game a source of excitement and all of your friends had different brawlers, but now the system just feels blank, you already know who you are about to get.

As someone who was there since beta and also played with my brother quite alot, I agree that it does feel very different than before and I thinks it’s the competitiveness that changed. They kept adding more complexity which seems great if your fully in the brawl stars circle but as soon as you leave it’s tough to come back because there’s going to be some broken new guy your going to destroyed by and someone playing a long range control brawler (which there are many) that slows the game down and forces you to try your absolute hardest just for a win games quest. And with the “new broken brawler that wipes everything” that happened several times when I’ve tried returning after a long brake, with buster being a hilarious example of it where I’d see a buster on the enemy team and assume I’d lose and laugh off how absurd he was.
Also burnout, with daily quests it feels like a constant grind that doesn’t need to be there, sometimes I just wanna go as someone because I haven’t played them but instead I need to go as mr p in heist because that’s what the game says. You could ignore it but then you’ll have to go through more exhausting matches with brocks, emzs squeaks, and whatever the new guy is to try and make progress. One of the longest brakes I took was few months after Club League, not because I hated it, because I loved it, I was in a decent club and was assigned to with boxingChicken and supdawg, and we constantly won over and over 2/2 wins in club league for 3/3 days, we were unstoppable. But then they added club quests and there wasn’t that urgency and when supdawg completed none of his quests he was kicked. It became just be and Boxing Chicken and without the full group we both quickly burnt out and were no more. The only thing that got me to play again was the same that got me to play brawl stars for the first time, my brother, thank you for reading.

Also
Great vid keep it up.

I mean... realistically it is different. Brawlers being added and the meta being changed has made the game more competitive. Before you know the best counter to everybrawler. Now with all the changes and different brawlers, it's much different. It's going to feel different because it is much different.

Tbh, the most fun I've ever had in brawl stars was in the first few months after I began playing it. Learning what all of the brawlers did as I went along (that was before the "try brawler" feature) and the excitement of getting a new brawler was what made the game actually fun. Unlocking new brawlers doesnt hit the same for me anymore and idk why. Also the game was a lot simpler back then which I perfer.

I think Brawl Stars feels strange, because it is nowadays so different than it was in global launch. I play Brawl since 2018, and I remember the old times... They were not better, but remarkable.

Honestly, i loved the game initially during 2020. Today it just feels so bad. It feels like its a pay to win game and its so hard to progress. And as a returning player, i have tons of quests and it feels very grindy

I started brawl in summer of 2019. And I must say, there never rlly were any major bad things (except gears maybe). Imo the game rlly hyped up again at season 14, cuz I actually left Brawl from season 9 till 13 cuz it didnt rlly catch me anymore, but for some reason as soon as season 14 arrived I came back equally active as I was in 2019/20. And for some reason many other players did a similar thing according to statistics

I’m so glad someone brought this up. I uploaded brawl stars content back then and I truly loved it. It was so fun and nothing could beat it. I left brawl stars like couple of years ago and I returned recently last month. I saw all these new things and truly I felt like I was in a different game. I missed old brawl stars man :(
