I've listened to many new analogue synths and they sound more digital and lifeless, I've never thought that an analogue VST emulation would sound better in the future than a hardware, the OP-X VST is just incredible and - sad to say because I love hardware - it sounds better in my ears that many expensive analogue synths out there...in the sense of price/sound quality ratio.

No matter if it's an 80s sounding device, I love this instrument and bought it recently from SonicProjects.ch. It is like a good violin. Timeless ....
You can use it for modern things, as well. It all depends on how you use it for your creative thoughts ...
