If God is one, why does the Bible refer to Him in plural?

The Hebrew word for Egypt (2 lands), water, and heaven are always expressed as plural also. Not sure why but I think for Egypt it might refer to the west bank (land of the dead - where the tombs and pyramids are built) and east bank (the land of the living - where Israel escaped into the Sinai).

In African languages which Hebrew is a part of of since all semetic and and bantu language have a point of origin that is somewhere around etheopia all have words that are singalar and plural same time. Not all of them but some of the words. It's is is a feature that is consistent in many languages of aftica regardless of region
