In Baker's math, we use the weight of flour as the reference, and all other ingredients are a percentage of the flour weight (and yes you can totally weigh eggs). Using cups and teaspoons is absurd with today's digital scales costing less than $20. This is how we easily scale any recipe. But I digress. These videos are too long. Spending all of this time going to get a new color to write one word is just tedious and a waste of valuable learning time, along with repeating the word getting the new color 4 times. I complain because every single Khan video does this. The vast majority of kids who can get these concepts are made to sit through these slow as molasses examples to make they don't miss an example ahead that has a skill they haven't learned yet. "Ok, so 1 cup of butter.... let's see... bu.. tter.. wait let's get a new color... butter... ok that's a good color... let's write that again... 1... cup... of... b - u - t - t - e - r. Ok, so we will have 1 cup of but-ter in our new Smaller Super Cake." Seriously, every video. My kids cannot take it any more, and neither can I.
