If FTX had offered, say, seashells or tulip bulbs as tokens perhaps it would have flown. Creating 'tokens' from nothing just doesn't make sense and this, I'm sure, is confusing to most investors in these scams. All they see is the "return on investment" without giving it much thought. Also called greed.
