Miz was the perfect person to help AJ adjust to the wwe style. I remember the stuff with Jericho was a bit rough and then AJ wrestled/feuded with Miz and had a really great match.

I think Vince didn't care for AJ because of his size. AJ is barely 6 feet tall and doesn't look like your typical guy who could go toe to toe with the best of the best. In the end it seemed Vince was impressed by him because Vince gave AJ a Wrestlemania match, then he put him with Roman for the world title for the next two PPVs, then he beat Cena three times - once CLEANLY at Summerslam, then the next month he's WWE champion. Not bad for a 6 month stretch in WWE. Most guys don't get that for their whole careers.

Another proof that Miz is the gatekeeper of the main event scene and WWE's most reliable guy. Doesn't matter who you are or what you're doing at the time. If you can't get gold out of Miz, you're useless.

I was afraid of AJs career in the WWE after he debuted in the Royal Rumble. Ive always been a huge fan of AJ he was the reason I watched TNA but at the beginning of his run in WWE with the way he was being used and booked I thought Vince was going to bury him or use a mid card the whole time but I'm glad AJ proved to Vince that he is one of the best in the business and eventually Vince saw that and put the WWE title on him later.

Tbh Vince booked AJ SO much better. He was facing Roman Reigns in the PPV after WM 32.
He made him WWE champion in 9 months, made him beat Cena clean & booked him to win most of the matches(only Dean won more in 2016)
Not to forget the long reign of WWE title - 371 days, US title win in MSG, IC title, Tag title to cap of the grandslam.
Thank you, Vince. He made AJ Styles a superstar in the WWE.
Well, now he is booked as an afterthought, despite looking great, wrestling better than all the guys in 40s & can still move so good.

Oh he knew. AJ was the face of TNA and while TNA was never a true threat to WWE, he was definitely aware of them.

He probably didn't like AJ BECAUSE he was TNA's ace. We all know how Vince largely felt about talent he didn't directly create.

Thankfully he kinda warmed up to him in the end!

I think it was the matches with Reigns, and especially Cena, that really got AJ for Vince. I still remember the intense reaction the fans gave seeing them in the ring together.
