Most kids in America grow up playing with Legos. Now, the iconic toy is being used to help blind children read. The Lego Foundation hopes that "Braille Bricks" will help blind kids learn alongside children who can see. It plans to introduce these bricks in American schools next year. Only on "CBS This Morning," Ian Lee got to test them out.

Each weekday morning, "CBS This Morning" co-hosts Gayle King, Anthony Mason and Tony Dokoupil deliver two hours of original reporting, breaking news and top-level newsmaker interviews in an engaging and informative format that challenges the norm in network morning news programs. The broadcast has earned a prestigious Peabody Award, a Polk Award, four News & Documentary Emmys, three Daytime Emmys and the 2017 Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast. The broadcast was also honored with an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Award as part of CBS News division-wide coverage of the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. WOW I will stop complaining about the price of LEGO sets if they keep doing things like this with their money. Just Beautiful!

How cool would it be if using this same design, Lego created a way for the kids to also build the sets. The sets would include a Braille set of plans (instructions) and the Braille bricks would be coordinated to fit the plan.

I’m not blind, but I REALLY want to learn Braille. My whole life I’ve wanted to learn a new language, but I don’t want to need to learn to speak in that language. The app I use to learn French mostly focuses on pronunciation. I still take free French lessons on Duolingo every once in a while, but I still want to learn a language that isn’t spoken, so I’m trying to learn Braille.

Hello CBS!! This is wonderful!! I administrate the largest infant/toddler program for Visually Impaired children in the U.S., with the Los Angeles Unified School District. We focus on early intervention, with home visits and Family Support Centers, across our widespread District coverage areas. Yet, sadly, so few people know that we provide FREE services to blind and visually impaired babies/toddlers and their families, implemented by highly educated and credentialed teachers, despite our child find efforts. We also have a staff of dedicated bi-lingual special education assistants. I hope CBS sees my post and does a positive spotlight on this incredible program, to help spread the word to families in need!! ** We also serve infants/babies of children who are deaf or have a hearing level that warrants services.
